Summer Intensive in Budapest, Hungary: May-June 2027

Basic Info:

Your classroom just got a lot bigger! Through the Institute for Global Studies Summer Intensive, you can spend three weeks living and learning in Budapest, Hungary, while earning six academic credits and completing your required Cross-Cultural Field Experience. You’ll take two courses, enjoy field trips and class excursions, and experience the culture, history, and energy of one of Europe’s most memorable cities.

Budapest

Life in Budapest gives you plenty to explore beyond the classroom. You can walk along the Danube, visit Buda Castle and Fisherman’s Bastion, explore the Great Market Hall, and learn to navigate Budapest by tram and metro. From historic neighborhoods and local cafés to evening views of Parliament along the river, you’ll have the chance to experience what everyday life in Budapest is really like.

Housing

During the summer intensive program, students will stay in dormitory rooms provided by our partner school, Károli Gáspár University. The recently-refurbished building gives students access to study spaces and kitchens, and is centrally located for convenient access to grocery stores, cafés, and shops, as well as classroom buildings.

Budapest is famous for being an extremely safe and friendly European city, where many people speak English. Students will also be able to experience English-language services at one of the many area churches, and connect with students from our partner school!
